X2D
Recommended- Best for: the full mix above. Flexible + rigid, outdoor-tough parts, cleaner complex shapes, bedroom-friendly running, multi-color when you want it.
- Tradeoff: costs a bit more than the simple everyday option.

Bambu Lab
Simple everyday printer for toys, organizers, and basic brackets.
Bambu Lab
Flexible + rigid parts, outdoor-tough plastics, cleaner complex shapes. Same desk size as P2S.
Bambu Lab
Bigger one-piece prints and optional laser. Floor-space machine.
Why: 256 mm covers most RC mounts, organizers, and jigs. ~325-350 mm only matters for one-piece large panels, big bodies, or wide templates you refuse to split.
Why: ASA/ABS for outdoor garden parts and tough brackets warp when the chamber cools. A closed box helps. Heated ~65 °C chamber is much stronger for those plastics.
Why: second path prints supports or a second material with far less purge waste than single-nozzle AMS color swaps. Cleaner RC geometry and multi-material grips.
Why: 300 °C covers PLA/PETG/ASA/TPU and most family prints. 350 °C is headroom for hotter engineering filaments, not a day-one need.
Why: spare-bedroom makerspace benefit. Closed door + X2D HEPA/carbon is friendlier than an open shop. Still ventilate for ABS/ASA/nylon. Filtration helps; it does not replace fresh air.
Why: makerspace is a converted spare bedroom. Closed door helps a lot. X2D claims <50 dB typical. Any enclosed Bambu is quieter behind a closed door than an open-frame printer.
Why: P2S and X2D share the same desk-class box. H2D needs real workshop floor space and is ~2× the weight.

Enclosed CoreXY successor to the P1S. Hardened quick-swap nozzle, PMSM servo extruder, 5″ touchscreen, adaptive airflow, AI failure detection. No active chamber heater.
Excellent first enclosed printer for Cub Scout PLA props, drawer organizers, workshop jigs in PLA/PETG, and most RC mounts. Choose this if the budget is tight and outdoor ASA is rare.
Dual-nozzle X-series (X1C successor). Main direct-drive + auxiliary Bowden for supports / second material. Active 65 °C chamber. Claimed <50 dB typical. 3-stage filtration. UL 2904 mention for PLA/PETG Basic.
Best match for complex RC geometry (peelable supports), TPU bumpers on the main nozzle, ASA garden parts, workshop multi-material fixtures, and a spare-bedroom makerspace (filtration + quieter claimed noise). Multi-color via AMS still available. Later nylon gears pair well with AMS HT.
H-series dual-hotend large printer. Optional 10W/40W laser + cutting. Also in family: H2S (large single-nozzle), H2C (Vortek), H2D Pro (enterprise). H2D is the right “H” shortlist for multi-material + size.
Only step here if you truly need larger-than-256 mm one-piece prints or want a laser/cutter station. Otherwise the money and space are better spent on filament + a second AMS later on an X2D.

Bambu Lab
4 spools · dry to 65 °C · sealed storage · RFID. Combo is the default buy.
Bambu Lab
1 spool · dry to 85 °C · better for nylon / some CF · bypass path for abrasive/soft feeds.
Pairing: P2S / X2D / H2D all take AMS 2 Pro. X2D & H2D need a 4-in-1 PTFE adapter only when connecting more than two AMS units. Gen-1 AMS works for color on H2D but skips drying. Skip Gen-1 for a new buy.

These are historical-pattern estimates, not guarantees. Tariffs, stock, and “newest model holds list price” behavior can wipe expected cuts.
Prior deals (US store / dealer roundups): BF 2024 cut P1S Combo ~$849→$749 (-$100) and X1C Combo ~$1,449→$1,199 (-$250); AMS often -$100. BF 2025 (Oct 28-Dec 5) put P1S AMS 2 Pro Combo near $619 (deep EOL clearance), H2D Combo near $1,999 (~13% off then-MSRP in some write-ups / Best Buy listings), while brand-new P2S mostly sat near list. Newest flagships sometimes skip deep BF cuts.

Mounts, body clips, battery trays, tools, bumper/guards, display stands. Mechanically inclined. Will push supports and PETG/TPU.
Favors X2D (aux supports + main TPU). P2S fine for simpler PETG parts.
Brackets, organizers, raised-bed / GreenStalk accessories, tool holders, repair parts. Outdoor ASA wants the heated chamber.
Favors X2D if ASA outdoors. Else P2S/X2D tie for PLA/PETG.
Print the helpers that make woodworking faster: assembly jigs, corner clamps, drawer organizers, shelf brackets, router templates, sanding blocks, corner braces, dust-port adapters, hardware spacers, and drill guides. PETG or ASA for shop abuse. PLA is fine for light organizers.
Favors X2D for tough fixtures + dual-material clamps. P2S covers most PLA/PETG organizers. H2D only if templates need >256 mm in one piece.
PA / PA-CF (nylon) is tough, wears well, and runs with lower friction than PLA. PLA gears are great for teaching tooth count and ratios, but they strip or melt under real load/heat. Nylon (and PA-CF) is what you graduate to when a gear must last.
Favors X2D + AMS HT later (or H2D if you already need size). All three printers list nylon; X2D is the family-comfortable path in a bedroom makerspace.
Badge props, den gadgets, safe PLA toys, later CAD learning.
Tie. AMS Combo on either. P2S cheaper for PLA-only.
Location (decided): spare bedroom converting into a makerspace. Closed door helps noise and fumes. Still ventilate for ABS/ASA/nylon. X2D filtration is a plus here vs an open garage shop.
